The U.S. Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Real Estate and Facilities Management organization (REFM), Agency-Wide Shared Services (AWSS) is responsible for the operation or leasing of approximately 30 million square feet (s.f.) of space in over 750 locations nationwide. REFM responsibilities continue to grow in terms of both amount of space managed and the activities under its control. Having systems in place to manage, control and extract meaningful, empirical data about the real property portfolio and performance is key to achieving maximum efficiency. To that end, REFM has contracted with Pyramid Systems, Inc. (Pyramid) to implement an ARCHIBUS-powered system referred to as GDI (Graphic Database Interface) to collect and maintain detailed information on all of its leased space and associated lease costs as well the physical location of its over 100K employees. |

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is a Cabinet-level government agency. Its mission is to increase homeownership, support community development and increase access to affordable housing free from discrimination. With over 1 million square feet of space, HUD relies on a system called FIRMS (Facilities Integrated Resource Management System) to maintain defensible data on its space alterations projects, office equipment, and leased office space. With the accurate reports generated from this system, HUD easily meets many of the General Services Administration’s (GSA) stringent reporting requirements. |
