Fairfax, Virginia -- Pyramid Systems, Inc. (Pyramid) has just received award of a 5 year contract to provide Help Desk and Software Maintenance Support to the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD) for the Enterprise Geographic Information System (EGIS). EGIS supports analysts in CPD, as well as the Internal Revenue Service, State and Local governments, and the general public. The EGIS map integrates HUD business data with Census demographics, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) data to produce map libraries or layers that give the user a visual representation of geospatial features. The practical applications include eligibility determinations for tax incentives and community grant programs, based on location inside or outside of predefined geographical areas or boundaries, and program incentives such as Renewal Communities (RC), Empowerment Zones (EZ), and Enterprise Communities (EZ).
