Pyramid Awarded Contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation

Fairfax, Virginia -- Pyramid Systems, Inc. (Pyramid) was recently awarded a performance-based contract to provide the U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of the Secretary, Transportation and Facilities/Personal Property Section services in capturing the counts of all active assets of the department.

Under the initial task order, Pyramid will perform an inventory survey of the approximately 17,000 active assets and provide assistance with the reconciliation of the physical count, excessing, bar coding, and database entries. In addition, Pyramid will analyze the department’s current inventory management system to identify and implement potential system improvements, providing training and maintenance support.

The Department of Transportation, Office of the Secretary, Property Officer is responsible for ensuring that government-owned equipment meeting certain thresholds are accounted for on an annual basis. The Property Officer is also responsible for overseeing the management of sensitive items, non-capitalized equipment, and capitalized equipment for the Office of the Secretary, the Bureau of Transportation and Statistics, and the Surface Transportation Board.
