Fairfax, Virginia -- Pyramid Systems, Inc. (Pyramid) successfully completed a Section 508 training course held in Denver, Colorado during the week of 26 January. The course supported the Section 508 initiative of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to make electronic and information technology (EIT) accessible to people with disabilities. The goal of the training session was to give HUD employees a better understanding of the Section 508 goals and implementation techniques.
The Pyramid team developed the training curriculum and facilitated six training courses on the following topics: Accessible Meetings and Presentations; Assistive Technology and Section 508; Performing Market Research; Video and Multimedia; Telecommunications and Office Machines; and Web/Software/Computers.
Our team was very well received and nearly all of the courses were filled to capacity. Attendees provided positive feedback on the training, stating that the classes were interesting, well presented, and imparted valuable information that they can use. The HUD Section 508 Coordinator, Joel Dean, said, "The training was excellent. I am very pleased with the turnout for the courses; it could not have gone any better. You all did an excellent job."
Ms. Darlene Winter, Organizational and Employee Development Specialist, from the Denver office said, "You all are super. I am very impressed with the professional nature of the presenters and the materials."
The Pyramid team will conduct future training sessions in Chicago, Atlanta, Fort Worth, and San Francisco.
