JOB OPENINGS:

Java Developer

The Java Developer is responsible for implementing parts of the system architecture using best practices. This will include coding, unit testing, using design patterns, learning new technologies, and becoming an expert in one part of the system.

Basic Duties/Responsibilities

• Write Java codes based on requirements defined in use cases
• Develop Object Oriented code and/or provide maintenance and enhancements to existing code using Java
• Work with business users to gather requirements and write functional and technical specifications
• Develop conceptual and technical design including use of Object-Oriented techniques
• Conduct unit testing and continuous integration
• Troubleshoot system issues
• Work with team members to ensure that the customer’s expectations are exceeded
• Provide written status reports

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Experience Required:

• Minimum two years experience in the field or in a related area
• Minimum two years experience in custom software development
• Minimum one year experience in Java development
• Demonstrates ability to do technical design and development by using technologies that are part of JDK 1.3 or above
• Demonstrates ability to use logging frameworks such as Apache Commons, Log4J, java.util.logging package, etc.
• Demonstrates ability to use Eclipse IDE, Java Compilers and Build Tools like Ant or Maven and be able to troubleshoot build issues
• Ability to code in HTML and JavaScript
• Demonstrates ability to understand notations done in modeling languages (ex: UML) pertaining to use cases and class diagrams and be able to implement this through coding
• Good understanding of all parts of Software Engineering (e.g. Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing)
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Detail-oriented, results-driven and works well within a team environment
• Strong analytical skills and experience troubleshooting systems issues
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Excellent customer interface skills
